Genetic mutation

godzilla vs pikachu

Hey guys - I'm back with another blog post.  Today we will be talking about genetic mutation. A genetic mutation is a change in the cells DNA which can have good or negative effects. For example, Godzilla was a genetically mutated lizard. That is a example of a positive mutation.

A gene is a unit of heredity.  Genes are important because they give you all your feature like eye color or body shape. When your genes get messed up the changes can be good or bad (most of the time bad). Genetic mutation happens mostly when your cells split. It is extremely hard to live if you have a bad genetic mutation. Some will effect how fast you age and others might effect what your body looks like. You can even have two heads or two bodies!  Just because this stuff can happen to your DNA, doesn't mean your cell will let it stay there. In your cells you have DNA repair and it will get rid of the mess up in the DNA as soon as it can. If the DNA repair can find the problem it can become permanent.

Even though many bad thing can happen to you in genetic mutation, some good things can happen to you too. For example, say you are a bird and you get an extra long beak. You would be able to get food more effectively than if you had a small one you would have had without the mutation. If you get the long beak, you would have a better chance of passing it down to your kids.

Here are some examples of things that cause mutations: DNA doesn't copy the accurately, external influences such as exposure to a chemical such as tobacco, deletion occurs in other words a section of the DNA is deleted or insertion meaning extra code is added to the DNA.

Well, that's all for now.  Bye.

RNA

TranscriptionHey guys im back and today we will be talking about RNA. RNA is not dna but it works together with dna to creates proiteins I will be explaining how everything work and how it is differnt from dna lets begin.

DNA
RNA is also known as ribonucleic acid.  It is made in the nucleus on a DNA pattern. It is a type of nucleic acid that carries codes for making proteins from the nucleus to the ribosomes.

It works with DNA to make ribozones which gives us most of our features like hair color or size. They work together by the DNA making info for the RNA to take, translate and give to the ribozones to make proteins.

RNA has the bases adenine (A), guanine (G) and cytosine (C) like DNA, but has the base uracil (U) instead of thymine (T). The sugar-phosphate molecules in RNA contain the sugar ribose, not deoxyribose.

All living things have RNA and DNA.  RNA is important because it carries the codes for making proteins. Proteins build cells and tissues or work as enzymes.  A ribosome is a small cytoplasmic structure on which cells make their own proteins.

rRNA makes up ribosomes.  The mRNA is the messenger which takes the info from the DNA and brings it to the tRNA which translates it so that the ribozones can read it and create proteins. The thing that make the RNA different from DNA is that DNA makes the info but RNA takes the info and brings it to the ribosomes.

Well thats all for now I hope you learned that Dna wouldnt work without Rna. So thats all for now sell you later.

D.N.A

Ben 10: Alien Force, Goop TransformationHey guy I'm back with another blog post and today we will be talking about D.N.A. Without these we wouldn't be here. lets begin.

DNA is basicly a blue print to everything it the world.  DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid. It is the genetic material of all organisms. It is made up of two twisted strands of sugar-phosphate molecules and nitrogen bases. It help us grow and function.

Rosalind Franklin discovered that DNA is two chains of molecules in spiral form. James Watson and Francis Crick made a model of a DNA molecule.

DNA looks like a twisted later. The sides of the ladder are made up of sugar-phosphate molecules. The four kinds of nitrogen bases are adenine, guanine, cytosine and
thymine. The amount of cytosine is equal to the amount of guanine and the amount of adenine is equal to the amount of thymine. So, Cytosine is always paired with guanine and adenine is always paired with thymine.

Before mitosis the chromosomes are duplicated and the amount of DNA
in the nucleus is doubled. The two sides of DNA unwind
and separate. Each side then becomes a pattern on
which a new side forms. The new DNA has bases that are
identical to those of the original DNA and are in the same
order.

dna making 3A sample of a suspect’s DNA can be compared to evidence from the crime scene to help determine if the suspect is guilty. If there isn’t a suspect, evidence from
the crime scene can be compared to a general database of criminals the police may maintain. Crime scene evidence can also be compared to other crime scene DNA information the police may have on file to link two crimes
together.
